Valentine's Day- Last Minute Dates & Treats!
Happy Month of LOVE!!!!
February has been such a great month so far! The weather has been beautiful and I have been feeling in the Valentine mood! Which is odd because my lover isn’t here… but I am loving all the pink and reds and I can’t forget to mention all the festive treats! I wanted to share some fun dessert ideas, date nights, and gifts for this Valentine’s day!
Rice Krispie Hearts
How cute are these rice krispie hearts? If your loved ones love a good treat these are delicious and fun to make! I followed a rice krispie recipe from Google and then used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut them out. Next I put icing in the microwave and added the coloring to it. After this I put the icing into a Ziploc bag and cut the bottom corner to draw lines with and then added sprinkles!
Same thing with the pretzels - I dipped them in icing and then added some fun sprinkles!
Strawberry kabobs are always a hit! I made some chocolate strawberries and legit ate them all before taking a picture…. I can not resist these sweet treats! On the kabob I used strawberries, marshmallows, and small brownies.
Sweet Candy Popcorn
I am LOVING this sweet popcorn! I popped the popcorn on the stove with avocado oil and then threw in some festive M&M’s and marshmallows. This is an adorable mix to leave out on the counter for V-day!
Alright, on to date night ideas!
Who loves the Fifty Shades of Gray movies? I sure do!! There seems to always be a new one that comes out on Valentine's day! My ideal date night would be to make a dinner in or go out, then go see the movie and come home and have some wine and take a bubble bath!
Home Cooked Meal
Staying in and making dinner is always fun too! I love to make chicken parmesan on date nights because it is total delicious comfort food and it makes the house smell great! It also might be the only main dish I know how to make… Set up candles and turn on some music and cook together! Finish off with a homemade dessert and movie night. I love staying in - I am a total home body so this sounds like the perfect date night to me!
Valentine's day is all about relaxing and spending time with your love. A couple’s massage is a great relaxing and romantic thing to do with your significant other. Make sure to book it in time because I bet time slots are filling up fast!
I love comedy shows and movies - they are my absolute favorite genre! Laughing is the best and I know in Lexington we have a great comedy club close to home. If y’all do some research I’m sure there are some great clubs with tickets for V-day! Check it out because from a girl’s point of view that is something I would love to do with my lover for date night!
This one explains itself. Staying in and playing games is always a good time!
